Mrs. Lorenza "Lory" Treviño was raised in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas and is the daughter of migrant farm workers. She was the eighth-born child of ten. Very early on in life, she realized that hard work and dedication were the keys to success. She pushed herself, graduated with honors, and was the first in her family to graduate from a four-year university with a Bachelors in Music degree. After working as a teacher in public schools, she decided to help her students more by becoming a counselor. She completed her Masters in Education-Guidance & Counseling degree and served as a school counselor for ten years. She became a Licensed Professional Counselor in 2006 and opened her private practice in 2008. Lory worked for the local mental health authority clinic for several years as a LPHA (licensed professional of the healing arts). Lory also provided contract services for a local school district and a private school while in private practice. Lory worked at her private practice for eight years then moved on to work for a local school district full time. She provides mental health counseling services for school students, crisis response, and provides professional development and professional consultation to teachers and staff as needed. Lory later resumed seeing patients at her private practice in 2019 on a part-time basis to date. Currently, Lory is happily married and is the proud mother of two college graduates/US military officers. Lory now enjoys spending time at home with her husband, pet Shih Tzu, and traveling when possible.
Where My Mission Began...
Lory's humble background allows her to connect with individuals from all walks of life. She has demonstrated the ability to empathize and connect to others with compassion on a professional level. While teaching high school students as a band director at RGV schools, Lory discovered that her students needed a trusted adult they could talk to about their worries and concerns. Having found her true calling, Lory decided to become a counselor. She completed her Masters in Education-Guidance & Counseling degree and served as a school counselor for ten years. Later, she earned her LPC License in 2006 and opened her private practice in 2008. Lory continues to serve South Texas residents faithfully, following her mission statement of: "Helping You Find Peace."
